When can I check in/ when do I have to check out?

The apartments are available from 4pm on the day of your arrival until 10pm on the day of your departure.

You are welcome to book an early arrival from 11am (if possible) or a late departure until 4pm. Please contact us!

Can I use the swimming pool before the check in and after the check out until the end of that day?

Our pool as well as our sauna area are available for you on your arrival day before you can move into the apartments and on the departure day since the check in and check out times only refer to the use of the apartments.

Should we make a down payment?

A down payment of 20% is necessary for a binding booking, the remaining amount has to be payed once you arrive.

Which payment methods does the hotel accept?

We accept cash, debit card, MasterCard, VisaCard and Maestro card.

Are pets allowed?

Pets are allowed in the Standard apartments, please let us know when you book your stay. The owner is legally responsible for the pet. Make sure that your dog doesn´t bother any other guests. Pets are not allowed in our restaurant and in the Comfort apartments. We charge you 8.00 € a night for your pet, excluding food and bowl.

Are there non-smoking apartments?

A healthy environment is necessary for a good sleep and for relaxation. Therefore, all of our apartments and the public areas are non-smoking areas. Smoking on the balcony is permitted. Please use the provided ash trays.

Where do I get hotel flyers?

Click the menu item “Our Hotel => Hotel pamphlet” there you can find our hotel pamphlet as well as our flyers about offers, easily to download. We are happy to send you more information via post.

Are there single and double rooms?

We are an apartment hotel and only offer spacious apartments. Available for people travelling alone or couples as well.

You find free wi-fi in the hotel lobby and apartments.

Are there any safes or storage options?

Please leave your valuable belongings in the hotel safe which you can use free of charge. The hotel assumes no liability for lost cash or belongings in your apartment.

Is the hotel disabled accessible?

Our apartment hotel is not disabled accessible.

Are there car parks near the hotel?

We have free car parks right next to the hotel and within 980 ft.

Can I reserve a car park?

A car park reservation is not possible.

How long is the reception open?

The reception is open 24/7 and always ready to help you with anything.

What activities does the family hotel offer?

Child friendly atmosphere and child friendly employees, kids playground next to the building, mini golf, table tennis room, games rooms, billiard, table football, child friendly food, kids buffet, professional child care at the Beaver-Kid´s Club from the age of 3, face painting, kid´s disco*, miniplaybackshow*, magic show*, torch and lantern walks*, carriage rides*, playing in the play room regardless of the weather, games and books to borrow (available at the reception), babysitting (additional charges can occur, pre-booking necessary) * depending on season.

Are bicycles available?

No, but you can rent bicycles at “Zweirad Busche” in Bad Lauterberg. You can store your bikes in the lockable bike garage.

Does the hotel have a washing machine?

A washing machine and a dryer are available in the laundrette. You can get washing powder and coins at the reception for an additional fee.

How are the Comfort apartments different to the Standard apartments?

The floor plan is determined by either Type A or Type B. Both options are available as the Standard and the Comfort version. The Comfort version has been renovated, the Standard apartments have not.

How big are the apartments?

The apartments have the size of 48 m². You find the different floor plans under the menu item “rooms & prices”.

Do the apartments have balconies?

Yes, every apartment has its own balcony (furnishing depends on season)

How well is the kitchen equipped?

Our apartment kitchens have cookware and dishes, a fridge, a stove and oven, kettle and a coffee machine. You can get a toaster at the reception (depends on availability)

Is there a blow dryer in the apartment?

You can get a blow dryer at the reception, no additional costs – while stocks last!

Are there offers for breakfast, half board, or all inclusive?

Yes, after booking your apartment you can book extra offers like half broad online. Or you can choose one of our attractive arrangements directly, many of them already include different meals of the day.

Can I add my desired meal service on site?

Our restaurant capacities are limited. We recommend booking your desired meal service in advance.

I booked the all inclusive service, when can I start using it?

You can start using the all inclusive service the day you arrive from 4pm onwards until 10am after breakfast of the day you leave. The wearing of all inclusive bracelets is necessary.

Can I have breakfast and dinner at the hotel without staying a night there?

Yes, of course you can dine and wine at our restaurants and bars. Call us to book a table.

Will towels and bed sheets be changed regularly?

Our apartment hotel provides the apartments ready to move in, including fresh bed sheets. After your departure we will clean the apartments. If you need fresh towels or bed sheets, you can of course change them at the reception for an additional fee. An intermediate or daily cleaning is possible, let the reception know. Our staff will provide you with more information about the costs at the reception.

Fresh bed sheets and towels include what?

The first fresh bed sheets and towels include, per person, one set of fresh bed sheets, a shower towel, small towel, and a shower mat.

Can I get a dressing gown?

Fluffy dressing gown to borrow (for adults – unisex XL, for children size 4,6 ft.) for a fee at the reception (depends on availability)

Do you offer cots?

We offer the following items (depends on availability, pre-booking necessary): travel cot with bedding, baby monitor, changing pad, changing bin, baby bath, potty and special toilet seats, step-up stool for the sink, bottle warmer, disinfection, push chairs, high chairs, safety gates for cots. Please let us know what your child needs when you book your stay with us.

Are special wishes possible like gluten free food, feather free pillows etc?

We are eager to fulfil every wish. Please let us know your special wishes when you book your stay at our hotel especially when you have any food allergies and need special types of food.

Is there a hotel shuttle for example to the next train station?

We don´t offer a shuttle service, but our staff are happy to call you a taxi anytime.

Can I get fresh bread rolls for the apartments?

Yes, you can get fresh bread rolls at the hotel in the morning.

What are witch coins?

Witch coins are reward points which have equivalent value in euros.

How can I sign up for the bonus programme?

A registration is needed for the log in as a regular guest to the bonus programme.

Which advantages do I have with the bonus programme?

You can redeem your witch coins for specially selected packages and offers in the regular guest section and get cheaper offers for selected packages and offers via the log in section than on our regular homepage.

How do I get witch coins?

You get coins with your free registration for the bonus programme, by recommending us to family and friends and with your stays at our hotel.

I booked my trip with a tour operator, can I still redeem my witch coins on site?

Unfortunately, redeeming your coins is not possible that way. You can only use your witch coins if you book your stay directly at the hotel or on our homepage.

How can I redeem my witch coins?

Please log in to the bonus programme with your login details. There you can book current packages for regular guests and create vouchers.

What´s the maximum of witch coins that I can use?

During a stay of at least three nights you can redeem up to €30,00 , after five nights even up to €50,00 .

Can the witch coins be paid out in cash?

Paying out the coins in cash is not possible. The remaining rest credit of a voucher expires when you depart.

I have received a newsletter with regular guest packages, how can I book these now?

For that, please log in to the bonus programme with your login details. There you can book the current packages for regular guests.

Can I redeem witch coins additionally to my booked regular guest package?

You can´t use the witch coins in combination with other discounts, packages or vouchers.

Can I give the witch coins to someone else?

You are welcome to give your witch points in form of a voucher to someone else.

Do my witch coins expire?

The witch coins expire after 2 years. The witch coins that we give to you for your birthday expire after 1 year.

Winter holiday in the Harz Mountains

  • Do I need winter tyres and snow chains?
  • Can we rent a sledge at the hotel?

Do I need winter tyres and snow chains?

Basically, it is obligatory in Germany since the 4th of December 2010 to have the right tyres on your vehicle when there is snow slush, packed snow, black ice etc, like mud and snow tyres.

In the Upper Harz snow chains aren´t generally obligatory but sometimes it is the case that you have to use them to drive a specific road like the B4 from the direction of Bad Harzburg or Braunlage at Torfhaus for example. In summary, you should never get on the road without the proper winter gear. Otherwise the drive can become quite dangerous.

Can we rent a sledge at the hotel?

You are welcome to rent a wooden sledge at the hotel if available. Our staff at the reception will give you more information and lets you know about the costs.

Where are the next possibilities to go cross-country skiing, skiing or tobogganing?

In winter on the outskirts of Bad Lauterberg you have access to the large cross- country skiing trail area of the southern Harz which is 29 miles long and includes an almost 985 ft.-long ski slope with a ski tow lift. Some variety is provided by one toboggan run and many cleared trails for a lovely winter hike.

Bigger winter sports areas are in Braunlage or Saint Andreasberg for example, you can reach both places within 20 minutes by car.
